Rosy Voxbox 🌹 Unboxing/Review

Hey guys!

I know it's been awhile since I've posted, but nursing school has been one heck of a ride! Even with all of my time taken up, Influenster was kind enough to send me a new box to open and try out for free! If you're interested in signing up and recieving your own boxes, head on over to infleunster.com and attach all of your social media to your account and start filling out those surveys :) Hope you guys enjoy this unboxing!
*Disclaimer- these products were sent to me free for review purposes from Influenster- all reviews and opinions are my own*

Finally, A beauty voxbox!! I have tried many different individual items from Influenster, but the only other voxbox that came with multiple items was the Spirit voxbox. If you guys read my post on that, you know that I was a little disappointed with that. This one I am a little more happy with since it is beauty geared :) So I will go through each product in the Rosy Voxbox and give you my thoughts on it.

The first thing we will start with is the Fancy Feet Ball of Foot cushions. This retails for $5.49.
Description: Give the ball of your foot a break with Fancy Feet by Foot Petals ball of foot cushions. Add stability and shock absorption to your strut, while keeping feet from sliding forward with each step. These virtually invisible cushions are breathable and formulated with antimicrobial technology, keeping feet cool and dry. Essential for heels, wedges, flats, boots and sandals. Visit Macy's or Kohl's for more comfort and fit solutions from the Fancy Feet brand.

I have to admit that I have never tried one of these feet cushions before, mostly because I never ever wear heels and most are targeted for heels. It's nice that they put more shoe options in the description for girls like me that can't walk in heels to save my life. I will probably try these with the tennis shoes that I wear at the hospital for nursing clinicals, or my tall winter boots. Just feeling them with my hands, I can tell they have good stability. Excited to try these!

I received two Embrace scents by Vera Wang, Periwinkle & Iris, and Green Tea & Pear Blossom. Full size retails for $29.99. Description: A collection of fragrances that evokes the intimacy and emotion of Vera Wang, capturing moments in time to be cherished and embraced.

The Periwinkle & Iris reminds me a lot of the Britney Spears Fantasy scent, it has that almost bubble gum kind of scent to it that doesn't smell like it's for a kid. It's my favorite out of the 2 since these are the kind of scents I usually reach for. The other scent, Green Tea & Pear Blossom,  is that classic perfume smell that every department store has floating around. It reminds me of my mom's perfume, the Estee Lauder Beyond Paradise, so it kind of has a nostalgic touch to it because when I was little I used to spray it in our hallway closet and quickly shut the door so she wouldn't know I sprayed it...

Next up is the Purell Advanced Hand Sanitizer Naturals, which retails for $1.59-$1.79. Description: Purell Advanced Hand Sanitizer Naturals, which is made with 93% naturally derived ingredients and naturally fragranced using essential oils, eliminates 99.99% of illness-causing germs.

As random as it seems that this was included in the bunch, it's actually perfect for me. When I get done with clinicals, I usually wish I had hand sanitizer in my car that I can easily pump into my hands. Now I do! It's also nice because it doesn't have a strong scent to it, it's just that classic hand sanitizer smell. Nice little extra that I will use a lot! Just be careful if you have a cut on your hand....ouch!

Here we have the Secret Clinical Strength Deodorant, which retails for $7.99. Description: Putting together the perfect outfit is stressful enough without worrying about pit stains on your most coveted clothes. Secret's Clinical Strength Collection provides women with 2x the sweat and protection, making fashion sacrifices a thing of the past.

I've tried this before and loved it even then. This was perfect timing because I am running out of my current other Secret deodorant (seems like everything that is sent in these boxes is always something I need to restock anyways). I really, truly believe this is the best on the market strength wise. It keeps my smelly and sweaty armpits at bay all day, without staining clothes, and I pack on the deodorant let me tell you. My only downside with this product is the price, you really have to pay those extra dollars for quality. Is it worth it? For sure!

The last product in this voxbox is the Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Soft Waves Sea Salt Spray. This retails for $7 full size, $3 travel size (I'm guessing that's what I received). Description: Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Soft Waves Sea Salt Spray is infused with sea salt, aloe & sea kelp for a soft, textured, tousled look. The formula is free of sulfate, paraben, phthalate, dye and gluten and is safe for all hair types.

I actually have tried this in the past, just not in this "tropical banana" scent (which actually reminds me of coconut). I...kind of liked it. I tried it again when I received this with damp freshly washed hair, and it did help to give my hair beach waves. But the thing with my hair is it is so damaged that if I do not heat style it, no matter what product I use, it ends up looking like a damaged frizzy mess. I will say this semi helped with taming my natural hair, but I still felt self conscious throughout the entire day nonetheless. So I give this product a B-, just for my personal hair type. It's okay, not something I will reach for everyday. I will probably use this for those mornings where I forgot to wash my hair last night and I can't use dry shampoo, I have to wash my hair (and I'm on the go). I think it is worth a try, especially if you're someone who is lazy and doesn't have time to curl your hair but you want that effortless beachy waves look.

So there you have it, the Rosy Voxbox from Influenster! Gotta say that I was pleasantly surprised by this box, everything I will not only use but probably enjoy until it is all used up. Influenster has really been generous with sending me items to try, so be sure to follow my blog for more voxbox unboxings! Until then, have a wonderful spring and day cupcakes!

Influenster Tresemme #ReverseYourRoutine Voxbox unboxing/review!

Hey loves!
Back again with another Influenster VoxBox opening :)
I'm really happy I was chosen for another one of these voxboxes because the last one I got I wasn't very impressed with and I was worried they were going to stop sending me them because of it. But I stay up to date with the app and always fill out reviews for new things I try (which is my tip for those who never get voxboxes- fill out those surveys and reviews! They want to know you are committed to reviewing things). If you want to know more about Influenster and how it works to get free products for review, check out my last post on the Spirit Voxbox.

Lets get into the Voxbox, the Tresemme Voxbox!

*Disclaimer- these products were sent to me free for review purposes from Influenster- all reviews and opinions are my own*

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was chosen to review the new Tresemme Beauty-full Volume line that has a new reverse routine added to it, which makes this hair care line very unique. Basically Tresemme's idea behind this is that since conditioner usually weighs your hair down with product and that usually makes your hair limp and lifeless, by reversing the routine you can prevent that. So using conditioner before you shampoo is Tresemme's hypothesis to bring volume and life back to your hair (Conditioner will soften your hair and shampoo will cleanse the hair while still keeping the softness and bounce there). Hope that made sense :) It's a cool concept right? Which makes me feel very lucky to be one of the first to try it out.
I tried this out enough times to form an opinion on these products, and had to let you guys know what I think because I can already tell you that I LOVE this line.
I have fine and frizzy hair that often times has little to no volume unless I tease the crap out of it (even then it always falls back to flat within a couple of hours). Not to mention I dye my hair a lot throughout the year, and my hair is dry and fried most of the time. After trying this guy out for the first time, I noticed instantly that my hair was sooooooo soft. And whenever I touched my hair, it had this kind of bounce back to it, like my hair was a trampoline spring. It felt amazing to have that kind of volume. Even wearing my hair in a bun I could notice a difference (which most of the time during the summer my hair is always up). I let my hair air dry keep in mind, so I'm not sure what it would be like using these products and blow drying.
Pros of Conditioner: Feels nice in hair and has a pump
Cons of Conditioner: Small container and has a chemically smell
Pros of shampoo: Great smell and lathers up nicely
Cons of shampoo: No pump and bulky/heavy
Overall I really enjoyed the concept and performance of this product line, and suggest if you have hair like mine and often find it hard to maintain volume and bounce to try this out :)
Thank you so much for reading, and look out for more unboxings on this blog! Also check out my food blog where I recreate recipes based off of geeky and nerdy things like video games, movies, etc.
Influenster Spirit VoxBox ♥ Unboxing/Review
Hello pasta noodles!
Sorry it's been so long since I've made a blog post! It has been awhile since I have received a box to unbox on this blog! I took a break from subscription boxes so I could pay off student loans. I'm still in the process of doing so, but in the meantime I came across a site that if you sign up, take surveys, fill out your profile, write reviews and answer questions, then you will most likely be sent FREE STUFF!!! This site in particular is called "Influenster". They are one of many word of mouth companies that will send you FREE products in exchange for your honest review and sharing on everyday social media platforms.
I've been signed up with Influenster for a couple weeks now, and I already have received my first VoxBox! (which is the box of free stuff they send out from time to time). Based on the combination of the surveys I have taken and my social media impact score, they matched me with a college themed voxbox called the Spirit VoxBox!
**Disclaimer**: These products were sent to me for free from Influenster for review purposes**
This Spirit VoxBox was one of Influensters college themed voxbox's, so because of all of the surveys I've taken through their website, they knew to match me (a college student) with this box. You can see in this picture that these are a few products you would probably find in many college student's backpacks. On-the-go wipes, a candy bar, a quick touch up makeup item....and I guess some tea xD
As you can see my fluffy dog was not having it with me taking pictures ;)
So like with any other box sending service, they include a very festive information card that basically includes a little description of each item. It looks like there was one extra item that they only sent to a select few who also received this box, and it was a Kerastase curly hair treatment. I do remember them sending a survey right before they sent this box (just to make sure I was still a college student and could benefit from this box) and they asked about my hair type. I have more wavy...frizzy kind of hair, so I guess I wouldn't have benefited from that treatment. Either way the box did seem a little lacking without that item (not that I'm complaining, it was still free nonetheless!).
So the first thing out of the box was this Yogi Tea sample. I will admit that I'm not a huge tea drinker (definitely enjoy my fair share of coffee though) so I wasn't too excited for this. But I could see how some college students would love this (anything to keep us awake and running, am I right?). I'll still have a cup of tea from time to time, so I decided to try out the Blueberry Slim Life instead of the Green Tea Kombucha. It tasted like green tea but with a hint of blueberries. I will say that for a regular tea brand, it was quite delicious, so if you're a huge tea fan Yogi teas might just do it for you! And the cool thing about Yogi teas is that each one of their teas seems to have a special purpose. The Blueberry Slim one I tried is made to be drinked alongside a "dieting program". The Kombucha one is meant to help with your digestive tract. I've seen another one before where it was raspberry tea meant to help relieve menstrual cramps. Very very cool. Plus they included a dollar off coupon for another box of Yogi tea!
I know it might seem like I'm complaining a little bit....just a little :P but a candy bar seems to be a little...cheap? You know what I mean? Like I would have rather they included a coupon for this and thrown something else in the box to try. But again, seeing as I got this for free, I really should shut my pie hole! I did try this out, and to me, it was basically combining a Snickers bar and Kit Kat into one. It's just how it sounds, a crispier Snickers bar. I did find it nice that there were 2 squares of this included in the bag, so if you wanted to share it or save it for later than the options there. Having said that, it was a good candy bar!
Okay, now this one I have no problem complaining about because everyone else who has received this box has pretty much complained about it too! This is a lip and cheek stain from NYC's Lovatics collection by Demi Lovato. I pretty much never use lip and cheek stains unless they're sent to me, so I was eager to try this. I swatched this on my hand and knew instantly that I wasn't going to put this on my cheeks, for many reasons. Once you place a slab of it on your hands, it's there. Done. Game over. A good lip and cheek stain will give you time to blend it out before it stains completely. This does not do that. No bueno...So even if you discover this and try to take it off with a heavy duty makeup remover, it STILL won't come off. I just felt bad for the people that went right for their cheeks first time trying this out. They'll just have random pink dots on their cheeks for a week. I had my mom try it on her lips since she offered. She still put this over a lip liner, but it was decent according to her. I haven't followed up to see if it lasted all day, but from what others have said it really doesn't. I'm just hoping Demi gets feedback from this and others who have tried it and tries to convince NYC to change the formula. I suggest splurging on the Benetint by Benefit if you want a good lip and cheek tint.
And finally, they included these to-go feminine wipes. I knew they were going to send something like this because in that survey I was talking about, they asked me if they sent feminine wipes, would I be willing to try them. And I of course answered yes because free stuff is free stuff and I'll try anything. And if you've ever been on a plane for a long period of time, been in a public restroom without toilet paper situation, or just plain felt a little gross in that area, than you know how helpful having these to go wipes are. The cool thing about these is that they are made with 98% natural ingredients too. The only other feminine wipes that I have tried in the past have been Summer's Eve ones and ended up enjoying them, so I'm excited to try these out and will update you guys on how well they work.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

All in all, I was happy to have received this box for free. It was very generous on Influenster's part. Since I'm still giving my honest opinions and reviews regardless, I am choosing to rate this voxbox a 2/5 stars. I already know that if I would have payed even $5 for this box, I would have been severely disappointed. The free aspect of this really saved me from giving this 1/5 stars. I liked the wipes, was eh about the tea and the candy bar, and was disappointed with the lip and cheek stain. I hope this doesn't deter Influenster from sending me more voxbox's in the future, because I just think it was coincidence with the items I was sent. I have seen pictures of plenty of other Voxbox's that I know I would have been ecstatic to have received.

I also hope that those of you reading who are a little on the fence about Influenster still give it a chance! All you have to do is be active on their site and earn badges and complete their surveys and that's it, you will most likely be sent your first Voxbox just like how I did.

Hope you are all having a wonderful day, and until next time, take care loves <3

Beauteque July BB Bag "Picnic of Pretty": Unboxing/Review!!

Hi crayons!!
Hope your day/night is going well :) This months Beauteque bag came a little late..well better late than never right? Hope you enjoy my review, leave a comment or like if you're another blog! (I'll be sure to check out yours!)
Sidenote: As I'm typing this I'm watching Finding Nemo ^.^ I love this movie so much. I can't wait for Finding Dory!

(* this bag was not sent to me. payed with my own money )

---------------------------------------------------

"July is here and it's the perfect weather for a picnic, a Picnic of Pretty, that is! Everything you need to look and feel your prettiest for a perfect day at the park is packed into this bag. Pretty and practical, the contents range from lip treatments to body wash, blusher to sunblock. Wherever you're going to be this summer, we've got a goodie for it in this pouch! Keep Summer going in style with all this month's bag has to offer!" -Beauteque Team

------------------------

Etude House "Milk Talk Body Wash"(Value: $12): "Moisturize skin in the shower or bath with this milk body wash. Apply with a body sponge or with your hands and rub and smooth onto skin. Then wash off with warm water".

This was another one of those 'choose a set and we'll send you one from the set you chose' options (strawberry & apple, chocolate & steamed milk).I was hoping to try the steamed milk body wash, not to say I'm not happy with chocolate but it's just very potent. What helps with smelling this is to think of it as Hershey's chocolate syrup :) then it's a little more bearable. Regardless it's adorable packaging, and Etude House is a great brand ^.^ so I'm looking forward to trying this. (apparently they also have sheet masks from this range!)

(source: frozenblossomsbysenzy.blogspot.com )
-----------------------------

Secret Key "Witchhazel Pore Clear Toner" (Value: $19): "product controls oil and deeply cleans. Reduces pore appearance and nourishes skin. Apply to clean skin with a cotton swab and let dry."

We either received this witchhazel toner or an aloe toner (that specializes in moisturizing). :) Me being an oily skin gal, I'm glad I got this one. The toner itself is big with a lot of product! Toner is one of those things that I should be using but...never have...:3 don't judge me. Toner has so many benefits ranging from pore reduction, evening skin tone, and moisturization (especially with Korean toners). Can't wait to try this! Just look at all the ingredients supposedly in this!:
(source: pinsta.me)

----------------------------

Yeon/Juju Hallabong "Special Peeling and Pack Mini 4-set" (Value:$10): "Each pack in this set is a wash-off mask with a different purpose. The Live packs replenish and energize the skin. The peeling gel exfoliates and smooths the skin. The pore ghassoul pack rids the skin of dirt and excess sebum".

When I saw these, I immediately thought of those jelly packs that are in the middle of tables at restaurants. Sooo cute :) I've never tried anything like these before...well maybe I have just not in this sort of packaging. I'm thinking they should of came with plastic butter knives so you get the whole experience ;) I kid I kid.

-----------------------------------------------

Tony Moly Crystal Blusher (Value: $8): "This makeup will compliment your skin tone and accentuate your cheeks. Apply to apples of cheeks with a blush brush."

They let us choose between 3 different shades for this blush, and this is the first time I didn't get my first pick :( My first pick was called "Milky Pink" and I believe it was #01? This one is "Pleasure Peach" #03 which was my second choice. I'm still happy I received this though! Peachy Pinks that blend well and are buildable like this guy are my go-to's. Here's a little color chart in case your're interested in these blushes:
(source: kpoptown.com )

-----------------------------------------------

Holika Holika "Golden Monkey Glamour Lip" (Value: $6.99). "This is a 3-step kit to treat chapped, dry lips, and make them appear plumper."

I LOVE 3 step Korean anything! :) Sheet masks, nose strips, lip masks? You name it, I'll try it. Some could argue that they are more tedious for the same result...but lets be real if you love KBeauty, like truly love it, it won't seem tedious one bit. I think they're fun! :) Holika Holika has quickly become my #1 favorite Korean brand simply because of affordability and packaging. I especially love the color combo of these steps!! Since I'm saving this for later, here's a look at each step for you guys:
(source: prettyandcute.com )

--------------------------------------------------------

Beauteque Blending Brush (Value: $15). "Use after you apply all your makeup to blend it together for a flawless finish. Sweep over entire face lightly. Wash regularly with a makeup brush cleanser or mild soap and water to avoid product buildup."

Since upgrading to my beloved Sigma F80 brush and Beauty Blender sponge, I've honestly never looked back to these kind of brushes for applying foundation (although this is very soft yet durable and would definitely do the trick!). But, these brushes work so well at applying clay (and other) masks :) Last month we received that strawberry clay mask, and when using a brush exactly like this to apply it, the mask was distributed evenly across my face without getting my hands dirty one bit. Glad I have another!

------------------------------------------------

My overall thoughts for this months bag= it's good! I wasn't completely blown away but I still like it a lot :)
There were a couple busts about this month: Like I mentioned earlier the bag itself came pretty late, but Beauteque did give the heads up early that it was going to be late so I guess I can't be too upset over that. And the other was there were only 6 products in the bag this month. Beauteque does claim 6-8 products, but I always thought they would stick to 7-8. I'm guessing it's because the toner is so big? I'm not sure.

My 3 month plan was expiring this month and I actually cancelled it for the time being (school tuition deadlines got the best of me). I really really really don't want to miss another month especially since August's bag looks so cute! So I'm thinking of going with the month-to-month plan just for the time being. Almost makes me wish I was one of those bloggers they sent bags to for free to review xD maybe one day I'll get there.

Anyways! Thanks for reading! comment and like if you're another blogger and I'll be sure to check out your page :D

(*All pictures (except for ones with sources underneath them) are my own, this bag was not sent for review. Sentences that have quotations around them come from Beauteque's Information Card that came with the bag*)

HAVE A NICE DAY <3

OmNomBox July 2015 Unboxing/Review!

Hello Fruit Flies!
Coming at you with another OmNomBox unboxing and I looooved this month :) Keep on reading if you love yummy snacks from Asia <3
(Lets face it we all love yummy snacks)

OmNomBox is a Japanese/Taiwanese/Korean snack box that is only $25 a month. Each box seems to have a good mixture of sweet and savory snacks that will satisfy any craving :3 (at least the ones I have).

On top of that, each box always comes with a drink to complete your snacking experience. I always like to have cool snacks for movie nights and such so this box makes me very very happy :)

Bonus Snack! (DIY Kit): "Japan is well known for its crazy DIY Candy kits! These creative confections are fun to make, and then fun to eat! What a sweet treat! :)"

I've always wanted to try a Japanese DIY kit! :D This one looks soooo cute. Seems to be one of those candy mold trays but with a cute touch. I really hope to see more DIY kits in future boxes! ^.^

-----------------

Pretz Bread Stick Pizza: "These delicious, savory breadsticks are subtly flavored with both tomato and cheese, combing to create a fantastic pizza flavor!"

The OmNom team previewed this on their facebook page along with other flavors :) It's cool to know there are other flavors of these Pretz sticks because they are SO GOOD! I'm so happy I recieved the pizza flavor ^.^ I'm the girl that eats pizza flavored Goldfish so I knew I would love this, but it really does taste like a legit pizza! I love me some savory snacks so these are going straight into my tum tum.

--------------------------------

Koala Soft Cookie: "These soft cookie sandwiches have a thick, multi-flavor creme filling. The very center has a little bit of strawberry. The cake is very moist and flavorful."

I was pretty excited seeing this :) Soft cookies are my jam. And since I loved the strawberry koalas march cookies that were sent last month, I have no doubt that this will be absolutely yummers. <3

---------------------

Cookies & Cream Pocky: "Pocky meet Oreo?! This pocky's crispy chocolate-flavored cookie blends perfectly with the creamy coating covered in crunchy cookie bits. Awesome!"

Soooo these are delicious :) I feel spoiled with all these yummy Pocky flavors, but I can't get enough of them! Last month was Chocolate Banana Pocky and those were scrumptious. Hopefully this time around I won't inhale the whole box in one sitting xD

-----------------------------------------

Kasugai Fruit Gummies: "These delicious fruit gummies are made with real fruit juice, and they have a great fruity flavor! One random flavor is included in your OmNomBox!"

So I googled Lychee, and apparently it is a rare tropical fruit found in Southern China :) cool! Obviously I can't confirm whether it tastes like Lychee or not since this is the first time ever hearing about it but what I can say is that these do taste good! Honestly they remind me of Vitamin gummies :)

-----------------------------

Nongchim Sweet Potato Chips: "A perfect balance of sweet potato and maple syrup, these chips combine great flavor with awesome crunch!"

These are very unique! I've never gone out of my way to buy any sweet potato chips before, but if all of them tasted like these did (with a maple syrup twist) then I'd feel inclined to buy more! :)

----------------------------

Glico Cream Collon: "These are thin crispy rolled up cookie tubes that are STUFFED with a light frosting-type cream filling. The filling is very sweet and creamy. Delicious!"

I tried to open this without totally destroying the packaging but failed a bit in the process :3 oh wells. The good news: These little guys are very deliciouso just as they described it! The frosting flavor gives it that extra yummy touch.

--------------------------

Matcha Chococo: "These thin baked rich flavored "Matcha" green tea cookies are covered by a mild milk chocolate. Perfect balance of matcha cookie and  mellow chocolate."

If you love green tea, like....LOVE green tea then these cookies will be your BFF's. Personally they were so green tea flavor packed that I couldn't really taste much of the chocolate. My sister (a tea drinker) gladly took these, adding with a "I love grass flavored anything!!"
You do you sis...

-----------------------------------

Bourbon Roanne Vanilla Biscuits: "These thin wafer-y biscuits have a smooth vanilla cream inside and are very crispy and tasty!"

Yet another delicious item in this months bag :) the wafer was melt in your mouth and the vanilla was tasty-good! One day I hope to get the fish shaped version of this:

--------------------------------------------

Raspberry KitKat: "Instead of the usual chocolate, these limited edition kitkats are made with a raspberry cream. They have a very unique sour-sweet flavor."

According to my trusting friend Google, Japan has dished out over 200 different flavors of KitKats! I'm still sitting here wondering why the US hasn't jumped on at least 50 of those haha but I'm glad I get to taste raspberry KitKats :) I'm saving this for a special night.

-------------------------------

Iwamito Ren Boro: "These cute little 'egg cookies' are tasty and crunchy! Munch away! Or, just let it melt in your mouth and enjoy the yummy flavor."

I just know if I was a kid growing up in Japan, I would want these snuck into my Bento Box all the time! The packaging alone is just too darn cute. I mean look at that Bunny... riding on that bike like a G. So much swag just in one bunny.

---------------------------------

Taisun Grass Jelly Drink: "Shake before enjoying! Grass Jelly is a common dessert throughout Asia. In addition to the flavoring, this drink also has small bits of real grass jelly inside. This is a common drink in Asia, usually called Bubble Tea in the US. It is strange, but very delicious! Eating and drinking at the same time? Sounds like Asia!"

It was only a matter of time when Bubble tea would show its face :) TBH, I've only had Bubble tea once...maybe twice in my life. I live near Mall of America, and there are probably 2-3 Bubble tea shops that I always passed by, but I never jumped on the Bubble tea band wagon. I would rather get a frozen coffee drink from the 12 different coffee shops there :3 . Thus, I'm a little hesitant to try this, but it will be done!!

---------------------------------

All in all, this months OmNomBox was fantastic!! With all these Asian snack boxes around, I still think I made a great decision going with this one :)

(*this box WAS NOT sent for review, Box was purchased with my own money. All quotes in purple come from the OmNom Team's Snack Guide which came with the box.*)

Thanks for reading!! have a great day!
