Lets get started with the MAY BB BAG!!

The bag this month came with a total of 8 products including a cute makeup bag. I think this is GREAT curation, because it seems to be a good mix of skincare, makeup, tools and such. All perfect for the Spring and even Summer months ahead! Lets take a closer look at the contents of the bag.

First off is the bag! This reminds me of the old school Victoria's Secret bags that everyone wanted back in the High school days. I bought one similar but its bigger and more square shaped (I use it to store my hair extensions). I'm happy to have one just like it for my purse! I also like how it sits up on its own without falling over :) Love it! Oh, and it has a cute little flower charm on the zipper ^.^

The cool thing about Beauteque Monthly is that they let you choose options (like scents, colors, flavors?) for some of the products in the bag, in which they send out an email, usually on the 15th of every month, and give you about 3-5 days to choose your options. If you don't respond by then, they simply choose options for you. I like it because it serves as a little sneak peek of the bag, and also lets you personalize your bag to your tastes and preferences. If you want to be completely surprised, just don't respond to the email!! :)
The first product they let you choose was the "It's Skin" mini bebe mist!
You could choose between Sparkling Lime, Sweet Peach, or Shining Apple.

I got my first preference, Sparkling Lime!! Honestly though I would of been happy with either of those scents, they all sound delicious! :) Anyways, this is basically a facial spray that you spritz on your face/body throughout the day to refresh your skin and re hydrate. I LOVE these kind of facial sprays, my favorite is by Mario Bedescu and it's a rose water and aloe spray. They're the perfect pick me up especially on a hot and humid day. If you're feeling skeptical about how this would work with makeup on, don't! :) The thing about these facial sprays is that they kind of double up as a makeup setting spray (most of them at least). Although i would never intentionally use this as a makeup setting spray, I can definitely feel as ease using this knowing it wont make my makeup slip and slide. The scent is my personal favorite,because it reminds me of my grandmas house when I was little ^.^ I will definitely pop this guy in my purse for on the go :) Also I can see myself repurchasing this in the future.

The next item you had the option of choosing colors for was by "Nature Republic" and it is the By Flower Vivid Tint Bar.
The color options were Pink (Hot Pink), Green (Light pink....i think...), and Yellow (rosy pink).

I also received my first pick!! I chose the yellow color because when the email was sent out, I did my research before choosing colors. Luckily the only 2 reviews I could find of this product were the yellow and green color (basically the 2 colors I was totally confused on). This is basically the Korean version of Baby Lips but with a twist. It's a tinted Lip Balm with SPF 15, so it makes for a great essential for the Spring and Summer months. But, the cool thing about these is that they change color with your body temperature!! :) I mean that's just plain awesome. Imagine whipping this guy out of your bag around your friends and getting looks because you're about to apply a yellow stick on your lips, but then it turns into a rosy pink color. Magic ;)
(Update: This lasts for about 30 minutes at a time until you have to re apply, which sounds like a lot but thats about the average lip balm. The color is nice, it's not pigmented enough to cover your lips completely but gives a nice little tint. Good lip product for running errands on a hot day.)

Since usually they let you choose options for 3 products and only had options for 2 products this month, they instead spoiled this next product early. This is also by "Nature Republic" and it is the Bulgarian Rose Essence.

If you're still fairly new to Korean Beauty like me, then Essences are basically serums mixed with moisturizers. They usually specialize in one area of skincare such as Anti-Aging, Dark spots, acne even. This one in particular specializes in Hydration, which is pretty much the basis of all Korean Skincare. Not gonna lie...I was kind of expecting this to be a little bigger. Its basically a little smaller than the size of my hand. I mean this is technically full sized as are all products that come in this subscription service, but still, I'm curious to see how far this will go if used daily. This is a very liquid based product, so it feels soooo nice on the skin ^.^ very hydrating just like it says. And it has a fairly strong scent of roses, which hey, I'm not complaining one bit. I love rose scented anything, especially skincare. However if you're not a fan of heavily scented products (especially rose scented) you might not like this. But all scents aside this really does hydrate your skin well!
(Update: It's too early to see a long term difference on my face but I like this so far! I decided to only use it during my morning skin routine because if I use it at night I wake up with REALLY oily skin, more so than I'm used to. The rose scent dissipates fairly quickly after you apply it to your face so if you're worried about the strong rose scent then hold your breath for a bit xD. A lot of Korean women swear by essences so I'll keep using this until it's all gone!)

Next up is by "Holika Holika" and is it the Pig Nose Blackhead Steam Starter

So basically this is a Blackhead strip in gel form, that doesn't hurt! (yay!) Although there is something oddly satisfying when looking at all the blackheads on those strips...I still have yet to try this, but seeing as I tend to get a few blackheads sometimes on my nose and chin, this will definitely come in handy. And can we talk about the name?? And the packaging?! I mean it just doesn't get any cuter then a pigs nose. :) That's the thing about K-Beauty is that the packaging is almost guaranteed to be out of this world adorable. Oh! And if you're wondering how this works, you basically rub this gel in the areas where you have blackheads for about 3 minutes, and then wash off with luke warm water and it should take the blackheads with it down the drain! It has pink clay in it too. oooo...
(Update: First time trying this out I was a little disappointed because it didn't really do anything. But then I found out that its not really suppose to get rid of blackheads it just "loosens them up". So instead I used this before a blackhead strip and I'm still not sure if it really changed much of anything, but I still like to believe I should keep it around. It gives this numbing effect to the nose area and seems to get rid of extra buildup so its good for that, otherwise its okay.)

Beauteque included a tool in this months bag! It's "The Face Shop" Eyelash Curler

Well I find this super convenient because I was actually in the market for a new Eyelash Curler! This one in particular is coated with 24K gold, which makes it fancayy. I'd like to think that my lashes could automatically curl up and be amazeballs but...yeah I need a lash curlers help. The nice thing about this is it comes with an extra rubber strip so if I end up loving this lash curler and I use it so much it has mascara buildup, then I can just switch the rubber strip out and have a whole new Eyelash Curler again to play with :)

No Korean Beauty Bag is complete without Sheet Masks!! :D And this month we received two! These are the "May Island" Donkey Milk Skin Mask Pack
(Retail Value: $3.20 (x2= $6.40))
First off it says "Style May Vary" for these guys so I'm guessing others who received this bag got different versions of these masks...I think one is Anti-Aging which I'm kind of glad I didn't receive haha. The two that I did receive were Aqua (for extra hydration) and Mela-Tox (for whitening and brightening). I think all K-Beauty enthusiasts can agree that Sheet Masks are amazing! I love them for "spa days" where I'm just taking a bath and pampering myself. They just do an awesome job at hydrating the skin and making your skin feel so smooth after. And the cool thing about these sheet masks is that it's a 3 step process. First cleanser, then ampoule, then the actual sheet mask. That's like extra pamperage. And plus, Donkey Milk!! With Korean Beauty I've heard it all (Snail secretion, Horse Oil, Starfish juice?) so this doesn't surprise me one bit.
(Update: I tried out the Mela-Tox mask today and I absolutely loved it!! The cleanser step foamed up well and felt nice to wash my face with (almost wish they had a separate donkey milk cleanser from this brand). The ampoule/serum was nice, my mom tried it too and liked it! And the sheet mask smelled amazing and felt nice. The only thing is I had a breakout on my cupids bow area and i had to move that part of the sheet mask off of it because it burned a little. Everywhere else it felt super nice and relaxing. I think it's worth repurchasing!)

The last product in this bag is "Mikatvont" Auto Eyeliner Pencil

I love that they added an eyeliner to the mix of products :) just makeup in general. Although as far as Asian companies go I prefer Korean skincare and Japanese makeup....but hey I'm still not complaining it really doesn't matter! Beauteque usually keeps to Korean, Japanese, and Taiwanese brands but every once in awhile they'll throw in a Australian or European brand (One time they threw in a "Milani" product!). This eyeliner in particular is an Australian brand....that's made in Korea?....Oh well. This eyeliner is also under the "Style May Vary" category so color will be different in each bag. The color I received was white. Hmmmm....I know white eyeliner has been used for a long time (especially by Asian women) in the bottom waterline as a way to give the illusion of more open eyes, but this eyeliner doesn't go on smooth enough to do that. Not that it's extremely chalky or anything like that but I just prefer the smooth Urban Decay eyeliners for my waterline (those eyeliners spoil me). I can see myself using this near the inner tear duct for a highlight effect, but other then that I probably won't reach for this much. I prefer black eyeliners anyways.

All in All I loved this month's BB Bag!! It really is the perfect products for the month of May :)

Beauteque seems to do everything on the 15th on the month. They send options, ship bags, and take payment on that day. Making keeping track of this bag very easy to do. And from my experience shipping wise, they promptly sent out this bag on the 15th and it was at my doorstep by the 18th. But of course it all depends on where you live and the status of your bag.
